Stanley Getz (February 2, 1927 – June 6, 1991) was an American jazz saxophonist, professionally known as Stan Getz.Playing primarily the tenor saxophone, Getz was known as "The Sound" because of his warm, lyrical tone, his prime influence being the wispy, mellow timbre of his idol, Lester Young.

Sweet Rain is a Mike Gibbs composition and is truly wonderful reading here. Getz’s gentle, wistful sax savours and plays with the melody. The fine bass line is not to be ignored. Corea’s piano too is just perfect as it tickles its way around the tune.
